📍MWHC Introduction
The place referred to as "Shanti Khana," or "House of Peace," is a Multipurpose Women's Healing Centre operating in Camp 14(Hakimpara), Block A-3 of Cox's Bazar Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh.
The program operation manual for the Multipurpose Women's Healing Centre (MWHC) has been developed to assist women in healing from trauma and reintegrating into daily life from 2018 to 2024.
Since 2018, a total of 416 women have received psychological supporter training at Shanti Khana, and the "Rohingya Women's Psychosocial Supporters (PSS)" has organized 724 women's self-help group sessions, reaching 3,196 women in Camp 14. Annually, approximately 5,000 to 7,000 women participate in healing programs.
The PSS have completed a six-year professional education program and have been leading the centre as the "Core Psychosocial Supporters (PSS)" since 2024.
📍Project Introduction
ADI(Asian Dignity Initiative), as part of KOICA's Humanitarian Partnership Program (HPP), has been conducting the "Psychosocial Support Project for Rohingya and Host Community Women; Resilience Building" project in Cox's Bazar Rohingya refugee camps since 2018. This program, operated by the ADI-MAISHA-RWWS consortium, has developed psychological and social support activities with support from Peace to People.
